A soulful image when touches one’s heart, makes it flutter on a journey of imagination and exploration. And sometimes stirs a change within…even if that stir is momentarily. That’s what excites and astonishes me about photography. Everyday using the camera as a medium, I’m able to freeze simple moments most of us tend to overlook. And it is the simplicity of those moments, that the very essence & beauty of life is present. Which is probably why Photography as an Art Form is one of my personal favourite. And yet, every genre be it Advertising to Candid, Portraiture to Landscape & Fine Art, equally incites in me an eagerness to create something new.All I need is a camera - any camera for that matter;to quench my thirst for this passion.

To quote “ Alfred Eisenstaedt once said… When I have a camera in hand, I know no fear”. It’s true. For me, creating images is akin to meditation, and fills me with immense peace.

My journey with photography started almost 25 years ago. Life is a cycle of high’s and low’s, interspersed with moments of contemplation. And during one of those phases, sitting by myself in those few moments of silenceobserving life just passing by one day; my eyes captured and framed images that I could later only view in my mind’s eye. Its then that I realized, to recreate those images into a story I would need to keep going back and re-live those moments, and they’d never be the same as I actually saw them then. That bought up the desire to save those memories the way they unfolded and became my inspiration to pick up a camera. And I fell in love withphotography. It’s rightly then said, what one captures on film is captured forever…A reminder of those little things that have been long forgotten.

Photography has taught me many things. Mostly, the art of patience and spontaneity. Over the years, my travels and professional assignments have taken me to different places, tackle tricky situations and alsohelped me meet a variety of people from diverse cultures, backgrounds and mindsets. But the most precious gift it opened my eyes to was observation. The nuances of the tiniest of stuff like say the manyemotions that human beings as a species possess. How each is distinctive, and how we are blessed with the capacity to express the sameemotion differently. To appreciate the flawless artin everything created by the Universe. That there is beauty in everything, if we just slow down and see.And that is what guides me toseek new experiences, to keep creating unique stories, explore new themes. To look and discover beauty wherever I may find it.
